Typically within a few metres in the open, which is more than enough to tell which site, street or yard something is in. Accuracy drops under heavy tree cover, in multi-storey carparks and inside steel sheds, the same as your phone's maps. Underground or fully enclosed, GPS does not work at all, which is where our Bluetooth-based tracking takes over.
Often, yes. The platform supports a wide range of devices, so if your existing hardware is on the supported list we can usually bring it across without a re-fit. Send us the make and model and we will check before you commit to anything.
Yes. Battery trackers are made for exactly that. They report on a schedule rather than constantly, which is what makes the battery last, and they wake up and report immediately if the asset starts moving when it shouldn't.
Yes, and you should. Australian privacy and workplace law expects vehicle tracking to be disclosed to employees, and it goes far better when it is framed as fleet management rather than surveillance. We are happy to help you put together what you tell the crew. We are not lawyers, so check your own obligations, but the honest approach is also the one that works.
Plug-in devices you can do yourself in about thirty seconds. Hardwired and CAN bus installs need an auto electrician, and we can either arrange that or work alongside the one you already use. Battery asset trackers are usually a bolt or a magnet and a sensible mounting position.
The tracker keeps recording positions and uploads the backlog once it is back in coverage, so the trip history stays complete. You just will not see live movement while it is out of range. Multi-network SIMs help here, since the device uses whichever network is available rather than being locked to one.
